Bike to be StigmaFree!

As Idahoans we value the outdoors, which is why one of our biggest events of the year to help raise awareness about mental health issues is a bike ride (insert link to bike ride page). On Saturday, May 20th, businesses and organizations can also partner with us by joining as sponsors of the Biking for Mental Wellness, a Stigmafree Ride. The only “family-friendly” leisurely bike ride in the Valley shows our support for those in the community that are impacted by mental health conditions. Costumes are encouraged!

Bike to be StigmaFree!

As Idahoans, we value the outdoors.  That is why one of our biggest events of the year is a family oriented, fun-filled bike ride.

On Saturday, May 18, 2019, for Mental Health Awareness Month, businesses and organizations partnered for the Biking for Mental Wellness: a StigmaFree Ride. It’s the only  “family-friendly,” leisurely bike ride in the Valley.

This is the only bike ride in the Valley where costumes are encouraged! Prizes are awarded for the largest group participating, the most creative and the best-themed team.

Our StigmaFree campaign has come up with ways for the community to become more involved, spread awareness, and support efforts to reduce and eliminate the negative connotations commonly associated with mental health challenges. We hope you will consider joining us, taking the pledge, and support efforts to help those who need it.

Teams can start at YMCA in Ketchum or BCRD in Hailey, the route has suggested stops at the Sawtooth Botanical Gardens, Arbor Fest at McKercher Park, and the Home & Garden Show at Campion Ice House in Hailey with food trucks and other vendors.  This ride was open to all levels of bikers, you can ride the entire one-way distance, go roundtrip, or stop off at the Botanical Gardens, or wherever you like — anyone can sign-up to ride and to enter the contest.
